In an effort to preserve both excellence and affordability in the wake of steadily declining state funding, Wayne State University ’s Board of Governors has agreed to increase tuition by 5.9 percent over last year.
Under this tuition plan, in FY2009 a Michigan resident freshman will pay $239.50 per credit hour, compared to $226.10 per credit hour last year, an increase of $13.40.
As shown below, Michigan is last among all states in support of higher education over the past five years. To let your position on this issue be known, visit "The Rising Cost of Tuition" Web site to contact your elected state officials.
